Many thanks for the quick response. I received the scanned copies of the Taiping touring guide this morning - I am so grateful for your efforts. The guide confirms Taiping's many attractions and others that I did not expect.

I'll be staying in Taiping 13-15 November (rather than a short daytrip from Penang). Will keep in touch before I arrive.
